History of the CFBL
This is an abbreviated history of the Capitol Fantasy Baseball League, founded in 1990. The league has had a shaky existence (what do you expect when you get 10 to 15, smart, headstrong owners together?), but it has survived CFBL owner strife, player strikes, major league owner lock-outs - and the death of some owners.
While the rules have changed slightly each year – often minor but, at times, significant – the basic game has been left relatively unchanged. Unlike its inferior cousin, Rotisserie Baseball, Fantasy Baseball requires owners to decide line-ups week-by-week and compete against another team on a win/lose basis. Major League Baseball doesn't crown its champions based on yearlong statistical superiority, but on head-to-head games and final playoff games. CFBL does no less.
