CFBL 2010, Year #21

Casuals Dominate from Start to Finish;

Capture Their Fourth Title

The Casuals captured their fourth title; their second in three years.  The Belichicks replaced Minden Mujack who merged with the River Rats to form the Tahoe Rats.  The season started with a heavy heart for Tim Howe, whose wife died the previous January.

Playoffs Final:  Although the CASUALS dominated the regular season, they squeaked by in the playoffs with a 9-3 record to claim the Rick Best Memorial Championship Trophy for the 2nd time in 3 years.

The Rats did everything they could after a horrendous 0-4 playoff start to finish 8-4; not bad for a team that finished 7th during the regular season - a very mediocre team made better by good SP and a rejuvenated offense during the playoffs.  The Chicks & Dogs tied for 3rd at 5-7; The dRays finished 5th at 3-9.

The Casuals would have been forced into an extra playoff week with the Rats if the Casuals (and Giants) RP Brian Wilson had blown the Sunday night save against Mr. Fairbank's Dodgers; wonder who John was rooting for as he sat there among the Dodger faithful?

Playoff Standings:

      9-3  Casuals

      8-4  Rats

      5-7  Chicks & Dogs

      3-9  dRays
